Rose Musyoka holds PhD. in Public Policy (specialising in land) from the University of Birmingham, UK. She has Master of Arts (Philosophy), Master of Arts in Urban and Regional Planning, Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from the University of Nairobi and Postgraduate Diploma in Land management and Informal Settlement Regularisation from the Institute for Housing & Urban Development Studies, Erasmus University in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. She is a registered planner with the Physical Planners Registration Board of Kenya, Lead expert in EIA & Audit, Certified Mediator and member of various professional Associations of planners.  Rose is a lecturer in the Department of Urban & Regional Planning, University of Nairobi. She served as a Commissioner in the inaugural National Land Commission (for six years, 2013-2019).   Previously, she worked as a planner in the public sector for over 18 years. Research interests include: Informal urbanisation, Land, Land Value Capture and urban sprawl. She has researched and published in land issues and represented Kenya in professional congresses and conferences on planning both locally and internationally.
